According to Merriam-Webster, to photoshop is “to alter (a digital image) with Photoshop software or other image-editing software especially in a way that distorts reality (as for deliberately deceptive purposes).” Adobe Photoshop is so well known that it’s responsible for the verb to photoshop. Today, it’s the most famous and popular photo editor among photographers and graphic designers. Photoshop has come a long way since then. The original Photoshop program was developed for the Macintosh Plus to display grayscale images on a monitor. Adobe bought Photoshop in 1988 from Thomas and John Knoll.
